Thus ends the 2025 March Madness tournament. Florida takes home the hardware and Houston goes home empty handed. I feel bad for coach Sampson, he’s a great coach but it’s starting to look like he may never get one. We see it time and time again – coaches either adopt the grit and tenacity style like Houston brings on defense, or teams want to play with offensive fluidity and finesse like the Dukes and Floridas of the world. The reality is that it’s hard to shut down great offense for an entire 40 minute game, and the Gators stole this one late in the match.

This game capped off a really intersteing tournament for “EP’s Picks”. I think it showed that I really do know what I’m doing around here; I just had a really unfortunate round 1. It’s hard to come back from the amount I was down after that many round 1 games didn’t go our way with the spread bets.

So how did we do last night and how did we fare overall on the tourney?

We went 4-1 on our bets last night.

  • Florida hit on the Moneyline
  • Houston hit on the first half Moneyline
  • We hit on Walter Clayton Jr. OVER 7.5 Assists / Rebounds
  • We hit on Alex Condon 14+ Points / Rebounds
  • But we unfortunately missed on the total points over 140.5

That brings our tourney total to 40-46 on the spreads. Obviously not what we wanted going in to this thing but I’m proud of how we rallied back. I’m hoping that we showed you guys enough that you’ll still trust me come next year’s tourney. And let’s keep in mind I’m betting the spreads on the hardest tournament in the world to predict. If you want to win bets then go bet on dodgers to win a game in the MLB or something. You won’t see the return that you’re getting from a crisp -110 spread bet though.

Anyway, let’s look at something that we did get right from the start of the big dance. I said in my pre-tournament blog post that you guys will want to take an SEC team to win this thing. Everyone and their dog was on Duke but I stuck to my guns and said someone from that conference will pull this thing out – and Florida sure did.

I’m sad to see this thing come to an end but I’m looking forward to betting some NHL/NBA playoffs coming up.

Stay tuned folks!
