Well folks, that’s a wrap on the sweet 16!

You can go ahead and chalk up Friday night’s games as another unlucky evening for the program. We went 5-7 with our bets on the day.

Some bad beats include Michigan State winning by only 3 and just barely missing the cover of -3.5 (this is why spread betting is so hard! Yes they won the game which I got correct, but they needed to win by one more measly point… anyone who says this is easy is crazy lol).

Michigan (not Michigan State) was also WINNING in the second half against 1 seed Auburn, and they ended up completely collapsing to not even cover their +8.5 mark… brutal.

And our last bad beat featured Houston, who was up 12 with about five minutes left (which is well on the right on track for a -8.5 cover) and they ended up just barely winning, but definitely not covering. Ugh.

We did, however, do quite well with our Over/Under and player props so that kind’ve saved our day from not being terrible, lol.

Our grand total for spread betting on the entire tourney is now at 22-35 and we are unfortunately running out of time to claw back to .500. We are going to keep trying though! It just hasn’t been my year… you can’t make up some of these losses that we’ve suffered, but that’s why we love sports, and more specifically this tournament! It’s unpredictable and it keeps us coming back!

Despite all of that sadness, the following are the bets that I am making for Saturday’s Elite 8 games (tail at your own risk at this point LMAO):

  • Duke -6.5 vs Alabama
  • Florida -6.5 vs Texas Tech
  • Duke / Alabama UNDER 174.5 total
  • Florida / Texas Tech UNDER 156.5
  • Cooper Flagg (Duke) UNDER 41.5 total points / rebounds / assists
  • Tyrese Proctor (Duke) OVER 15.5 points (+105)
  • Walter Clayton Jr. (Florida) UNDER 20.5 points (-145)
  • JT Toppin (Texas Tech) UNDER 20.5 points (-125)

Maybe I’m crazy or maybe I just know all of the work that I put in to each one of my picks, but I am still confident that these bets will hit. I’ll never lose faith.

Either way, these should be great games to watch and I hope you enjoy them as much as I know I will! Tune in at 6 pm!
